Video talk by Rev. Master Daishin
In late June, Rev. Master Daishin visited the Norwich Zen Buddhist Priory, and whilst he was there he offered a Dharma Talk, which was recorded on video.
In their recent newsletter, Rev. Leoma, who is the prior at the Norwich priory, described the day as follows:
“On 23rd June, it was a privilege to welcome to the Priory Rev. Master Daishin Morgan, retired Abbot of Throssel Hole Buddhist Abbey and author of ‘Sitting Buddha’ and other books. This was his first official visit to the Priory. It was a wonderful occasion and will undoubtedly prove to be one of the most memorable events in the story of this Priory. Everything came together to make the day very special. It was the largest gathering of the Sangha that we have seen here and several other people were able to join the meeting online. It was a particular pleasure to have Rev. Master Leandra Robertshaw, another retired Abbot of Throssel, travel over from Cambridge to be with us. Rev. Master Daishin gave an inspiring Dharma talk and he was very generous with his answers to the questions that followed.”
You can watch the video of the Dharma Talk on the Norwich Priory website.

Forthcoming Events:
The Festival of Kshtigarbha Bodhisattva
On Saturday the 10th of August we will be celebrating the Festival of Kshtigarbha Bodhisattva. Kshtigarbha is usually depicted as a monk, carrying a staff and a “wish-fulfilling jewel”, and symbolises gentleness and the importance of offering.
The festival day will start with two periods of meditation at 10am. These will be followed by the Festival Ceremony and a Dharma Talk and discussion, ending at 12.30pm.
In addition to welcoming visitors to the temple for the festival (please book in advance), we will also be holding the festival over zoom so that Lay Sangha members can join in from where they are. Full details of the festival will be sent out by email to Lay Sangha members prior to the festival.
